Sam Law has 35 plus years of government business experience, spanning the entire Federal Government, Integrators, and related Channel Partners. Prior to creating Business Vision Advisors LLC, Sam was the Vice President of Federal for Quest Software.
Having started the Quest Federal organization in 1998, Mr Law and his team developed yearly revenue growth from Zero to $100 Million plus dollars in License, Services, and Maintenance Renewal revenues by the end of 2012. Mr. Law was responsible for hiring and developing the Federal organization. His four management teams were responsible for supporting the entire Federal DOD, Civilian, Intelligence and Defense Contractor markets. This included driving revenues through direct, integrator, and fulfilment partners. Mr Law was instrumental in arranging a two-tier distribution channels model enabling the organization to leverage the strengths of the partner community.
Other key milestones include developing a national intelligence business plan and a cleared subsidiary. He also developed a Professional Services business and strategy that was implemented across the company. Mr Law also created a SaaS and Subscription licensing model to meet the Federal markets changing business requirements. He also created a Federal CTO position, a very senior high-level architect, which could work with key Federal directors / program managers and communicate the needs of the Government to Corporate and the varying internal product development groups.
His key philosophy is to position new technologies into requirement fulfilling strategies and promote successes through mission focused support activities. Also, performing on-going market analysis and customer feedback to maximize effectiveness of business strategies was a key component of his successful business plan. Lastly, Mr Law was recognized as Manager of the year at Quest Software three times. First in 2001 and then again in 2004 and 2008.
Mr Law is a long time IT veteran with over 30 years’ experience in the Federal market. Sam is active in industry groups including INSA, AFCEA, and with BCFA. Prior to the start-up of Quest Software, he held key positions at several early and rising companies including, Sybase/Gain, Mentor Graphics, and Tektronix. Focused mainly on emerging technology, Sam has helped numerous organizations understand, grow and mature in this critical market. Sam holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg Maryland. He is married 30 plus years and has two adult children working for and/or supporting the Federal government in the engineering / sciences capacity.
